Waterproofing drains with white tank

Waterproofing type 3 of 4

Compliant waterproofing in buildings made of waterproof concrete

Waterproof concrete tanking (German “white tank”) is a term used to describe a construction method where the floor slab and outer walls of a structure form a closed “tank” made of waterproof concrete so that no additional sealing of the outer surfaces is necessary. This construction method is regularised by the EN 206-1 and DIN 1045-2 standards and the “Waterproof concrete structures” guidelines (WU-Richtlinie) issued by the Deutscher Ausschuss für Stahlbeton (German Committee for Reinforced Concrete (DafStb)). Floor drains which are used in parts of waterproof concrete structures in contact with the ground must be waterproofed separately according to the respective use case.
