The Patscherkofel, 2,246 metres high, is a striking peak in the Tux Alps south of Innsbruck, known for its cable car, which was replaced by a modern 10-seater gondola lift in 2017. This now offers modernised mountain and valley stations with refreshment stops. As greasy waste water is produced in the restaurants at the mountain station, it must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in the nature reserve. This poses a particular challenge in winter, as the disposal vehicles cannot reach the mountain station, which is difficult to access. The PV EasyClean free NS 20 self-disposal grease separator, which was transported up the mountain by tractor, was used for disposal on the summit. This separator separates grease and sludge efficiently and without any unpleasant odours, so that the full containers can be transported down to the valley on the Patscherkofel cable car. At the valley station, the EasyClean ground Standard NS 7 grease separator is used, which is installed under an odour-proof cover in the ground to facilitate disposal. All disposal processes run automatically and efficiently to provide a space-saving and environmentally friendly solution. To ensure safety away from the catering facilities, four coalescence separators were also installed in the garages of the snow groomers to collect any light liquids such as fuels or lubricants.
